"A Summer Fête" Add-Ons

 

As many of you know, we had the great pleasure of participating in French General's "Chateau Getaway" in France this past month. It was a whirlwind of friends, crafting, shopping... and lots of exploring. So many new sites and experiences mixed in with the familiar.

Driving through the French countryside is both humbling and breathtaking. A harrowing pin-turn on a road barely more than one lane wide, followed by a view so incredible you are moved to tears. We have been truly blessed in this abundant season.

We were also very fortunate to be able to bring a few treasures back with us to add to our assortment this month! More lovely items are being shipped back soon, and will be available in the weeks to come... (!)

 

We begin with a beautiful 3" wide cotton-on-tulle lace trim that was tucked into our suitcases for the trip abroad, and then transformed with incomparable French "woad dyeing". For infomation on this revered process, go here.

This is one of our very popular white gauze scarves that was also treated to a woad makeover. We love it, and cannot wait to pair it with a jean jacket!

Not French, but lovely none-the-less! A deep pewter colored dupioni embroidered and encrusted with beads and cabochons, finished with a sparkly chandelier drop. Decorated on both sides!

Stash Society ~ "A Summer Fête" ~ July 2012

 

Ahhh, summer. Long, languid days and sultry nights.

Pools and picnics... porch swings and sweet tea.

Taken with the season, and inspired by our recent trip through the south of France, we offer you "A Summer Fête".

 

A colorway just right for a summer lunch with your "trues". Cool blues and soft greens. Perfect pinks and vintage ivories.

Grab yourself a shady spot and a long afternoon....

*Sadly, two items have not yet arrived at the studio and are missing from these photos. So you will be getting a lovely surprise when you open your kit! We promise the wait will be worth it! ;)

We begin with 4 wooden rings that will be part of our special project this month.

Tied up with 3 yards of dyed pink seam binding.

36" x 30" washed striped linen fabric with a charming "puckered" texture.

 

We are seriously swooning over this crocheted lace! 3" wide, and dyed a lovely soft, vintage pink in our studio. 1 yard.

 

5 yards (!!) cotton lace trim, dyed to a lovely, aged ivory. This is gorgeous!

 

Millinery rose with dupioni silk leaves and a huge glass pearl center. Handmade for you in our studio!

 

1 yard 4" wide printed linen ribbon. So pretty!

 

Silver bugle bead and rhinestone star applique.

2 small rhinestone flower buttons.

12 large gold brads.

15 gold beads.

15 silver beads.

 

3 yards dyed blue seam binding.

3 yards mocha seam binding.

3 yards dyed pink cotton "picot" trim.

 

We are very excited about this! While in France, we were lucky enough to find a stack of very old correspondence. Many of the pages date to the mid 1800s. Each one is handwritten, often on both sides, and most contain either a rubber-stamped "seal" or a postage stamp.

Each will receive one page, and each page is unique.

We will begin tutorials this month right after boxes are shipped on the 12th. Can't wait!!
