Here we go! The Art of Spring registration has officially begun!

Here's the itinerary:

Friday, June 3rd at 8:00 am, a luxury bus will pick us up in front of the Hotel Palomar in Dallas. (You do not need to be staying at the Palomar in order to board the bus.) We will be whisked off on a 40 minute ride to Canton, Texas, home of the world's largest flea market. It is seriously one of the Happiest Places on Earth for vintage-loving girls!

Snacks and water will be available while we are travelling, and there are always treats, surprises and lots of giggling. Cause it's 8 am and we're on a bus!!

We will spend the day in Canton, where our lovely friends Cathy and Diedre, owners of Girls Gone Junkin', will host us for lunch and goodies!! The bus will board for return to Dallas at 5:00 pm.

Saturday morning we will begin at 10:00 am with a light breakfast, and then we will dive head-first into a class with the amazingly talented and sweet Lesa Dailey. Silver Bella attendees and anyone who has shopped at Curious Sofa in Kansas City will know Lesa's work, but if you don't know it yet, you WILL. DIE. Lesa does not yet have a blog (!), but her work is stunning, and a class with her is a rare treat! Pictures of the class project will follow as soon as possible. :)

Class will run until 5:00 pm, and lunch, snacks, drinks, and more snacks will be served!

Saturday evening at approximately 6:30 pm, we will host a cocktail party and vendor fair. This is an intimate gathering accompanied by a light evening meal. Always a big hit!!

Sunday morning will start at 11:00 with a yummy brunch and a class with Shea Fragoso that will go until 5:00. Shea has something amazing that she is designing for you. I don't have pictures yet, but it rhymes with "blingy charmy bracelet". Shhhhh.....

The Art of Spring

It's that time again!!

We are planning and arranging and dreaming and putting the details in place for our dreamiest and most amazing art event ever!!

Save the dates of June 3rd-5th, 2011, and plan to be in Dallas for a weekend you won't soon forget!!

 

We are going back to Canton on the luxury bus (!), the amazing Lesa Dailey will be our visiting instructor, and Shea has a gorgeous project planned for you... Project sneak peeks will follow.

And of course the Vendor Night Cocktail Party is not to be missed!

Registration will open this Thursday, January 27th.

This may very well be our only event at the "church" in 2011. We hope you are able to join us!!

 

 

Dreaming of Marburger

It's hard to believe it has been almost a year since we have been to the Marburger Farm/Round Top Texas Antique Show! This vast wonderland of vintage beauty and antique heaven happens twice each year, but because of other commitments, we were unable to attend the Fall 2010 show, and we have been pining for it ever since...

 

These are the beautiful faces that helped make last year's show so memorable. Jo Packham and Gina Galvin.... oh, how we love these two!!

 

And how we love the miles and miles of heart-stopping gorgeous. I am still mourning for that certain rug hanging there that did not come home with me. What was I thinking??

 

But another treasure is always just down the aisle, or just around the corner. I'm pretty sure we bought all of the mannequins out of the booth next door to this one...

 

This particular tent had my whole heart and soul, but alas, the funds were sorely lacking. And I could have given her such a good home...

 

It is impossible to feel sad for long about the one that wasn't meant to be, because there is always so much more to tempt!

 

That rusty piece right there! Is it a potting table? Sigh. We should have brought a trailer...

 

But we did bring this one, and she set such a good example. She bought absolutely nothing, and yet had the best time ever!! Love that about her.

So the shopping wish lists are ready, and we are sitting on pins and needles until it is time to head south again into the Land of Enchantment!

We'll be the ones with the moving truck.

 

 

Stash Society ~ February Registration

Keep in mind that this is a minimum 3 month commitment, payable one month at a time. If you are already enrolled, no need to sign up again!!

Stash Society Update ~ February

 

Updated to add: If you have already signed up for GGSS, and have received your confirmation email, you do NOT need to sign up again on the 12th. We will automatically invoice you each month for as long as you wish to remain a member! 

 

Well, we have certainly learned these past few weeks to never underestimate the power of a girl on a quest for beautiful art materials!

The response for the premier offering of The Gilded Girls Stash Society was far beyond our expectations, and we sold out all available spots before the photos were even up!

We had mentioned in our original posting on December 1st that we were opening up registration early for those of you who were willing to "fly blind" with us, and boy, did you ever!!

 

Our sincere apologies to those of you who were waiting for photos to make the commitment... and a giant cyber hug to those of you who took the plunge. We think you will be very happy with your box of goodies!

For the month of February, we are opening up a handful of additional spots, and the format is the same. The Paypal link for February will be added on Wednesday, January 12th at 3pm CST, and when these extra spots are filled, the button will automatically read "sold out". Photos of the entire kit will not be available online until February 1st. If there are any spots remaining, you may still sign up then!

We have chosen to operate the Stash Society in this manner in order to be able to offer all of you the very best products we can find. We are not merely ordering new stock from scrapbook and embellishment companies, where inventory is stable. We are offering a mixture of new and vintage materials that are hard to find, sometimes fleeting in nature, and often require a bit of a tweak before they are truly "Gilded". For these reasons, it is critical that we have a fairly accurate count of how many we are buying for well in advance. We understand that this does not work for everyone, but it is the business model that works best in this instance.

We anticipate 2-3 more months of slowly growing the number of participants until we hit our maximum, at which point we will be on a permanent wait list. Fingers crossed! :)

We are also hard at work on an online community for Gilded Girls Stash Society (GGSS) members that will feature tutorials, tons of photos, and a message board for questions, sharing projects, and camaraderie! We are definitely looking forward to that!

Stash Society ~ "The Romantic Life" ~ 1/11

At last!!

We are so happy to present to you the goodies that will ship as the Stash Society "kit" this month!

We are calling it "The Romantic Life". Just in time to get ready for a lovely St. Valentine's Day... a selection of gold and silver, pink and cream, trims and lace.

We just love looking at it all together...

 

Some paper to feed your imagination. Custom designed especially for this kit... hand-stencilled champagne gold on linen paper, 6" x 24".  Oversized vintage dictionary pages. Two sheets of 11" x 15" handmade paper.

Stay tuned for a crown project designed especially for these papers!

 

48 vintage shell buttons, assorted small sizes. Trims wound on chipboard die-cut badges covered with paper. Vintage millinery flowers.

 

Vintage gold "pick". Ribbon-embroidered tulle fabric (Approx. 1/2 yard). 40" metallic-embroidered ivory lace trim.

 

Seven crystal buttons of varying styles. Three large glittered ribbon roses. Eight pearls on eye pins. 18" of pink rosary chain. "Chandelier crystal" spray. Two glass vials with cork tops. Mirrored glass chandelier pendant.

 

4" x 1" vial, filled with custom-blended German glass glitter.

 

1/2 yard of our favorite vintage-y pink dupioni silk. 12" x 50" sequined pink tulle. One square-foot gorgeous burgundy beaded lace. The sweetest beaded heart "patch".

And that embroidered cream tulle? Swoon!

For those of you that have taken the leap of faith with us and signed up for the Gilded Girl Stash Society, thank you, thank you. We have been overwhelmed with the response, and we will work very hard each month to bring you beautiful, soulful treasures for your artwork.

We do have a surprise vendor-donated item that we will be including in each package. Yay! Each month you will be receiving an extra "goody" this way. We will try to make this a big "win" for those donating these special treats... so show them some love at retail!! :)
