For several months, I have been reading about an amazing new jewelry-grade resin hitting the marketplace. For some reason, I was fascinated, and read everything I could find about it.
The product is ICE™ Resin, and finally, at the CHA Winter Show last month, Shea and I got a chance to see it "up close and personal". The show samples were spectacular. Crystal clear, smooth, and beautiful, the poured resin pieces were beyond inspirational.
We could not wait to try it for ourselves, and at the show, Susan was gracious enough to give us a package of it to experiment with.
When the call went out last week for an Ice™ Resin Blog Hop, that was just the kick in the pants incentive Shea needed to get in the studio and use it!
And wow, the results are just incredible...
She made an amazing bracelet. The top three bezels are hand made torched brass, and three vintage crystal buttons were encased in the resin. Antiqued crystal chain was then attached to the perimeters.
The bottom row are antiqued copper bezels from Vintaj. Shea used Graphic 45 paper as a background, and the fantastic Zip Dry™ glue from Beacon Adhesives to adhere new and vintage charms, before pouring the ICE™.
They are phenomenally beautiful in person!
She then worked her signature wire-wrapping magic to create an amazing piece, that would look equally at home with jeans or a little black dress. I love this kind of versatility in jewelry.
She will be lucky if this does not find it's way to my jewelry box. It's that cool. Please disregard the prominent "S" initial. I say it stands for "Sassy", and not "Shea".
Thanks Objects and Elements for the opportunity to try this fantastic product. We are now huge fans! We will be using gallons of this stuff!
